The Fox Valley Concert Band is a group of volunteer musicians who provide quality band music performances for the public free of charge. Our programming is comprehensive and diverse, including classical band repertoire, orchestral transcriptions, and new works by emerging composers.

Please consider supporting the band so we can continue to provide high quality concert band performances that are accessible to the public. We accept donations from individuals, employers, businesses, nonprofits, and corporations. Donation proceeds directly support the band. Examples of what your donations are used for include music purchases and commissioning, maintenance of band-owned instruments, guest artist fees, and rental of performance space. Matching Gifts

Matching gifts are a great way to increase your contribution’s impact to the Fox Valley Concert Band by having your employer contribute under a matching gift program. Qualified Charitable Distributions

The Fox Valley Concert Band can accept Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from your IRA. Here are some quick Q&As to help you decide if this is an option for you:

Q: What is a QCD?

A: A QCD is a distribution from your traditional IRA. You can make a QCD if you are 70 ½ years old, though most people typically wait until they have to make Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) at age 73. The amount of a QCD is any amount up to your RMD amount for the year, or $111,000 (in 2026), whichever is less.

Q: Why would I be interested in giving through a QCD versus a direct contribution?

A: A QCD can save you money on your taxes, because the amount of the QCD is not included in your income. Your income can affect how much you pay for Medicare premiums and how much of your social security income is taxable. Also, if you take the standard deduction like most senior citizens, contributions do not save you on taxes. For state tax purposes, most states with a state income tax (including Wisconsin) treat QCDs as tax-free.

Q: What do I have to do to make a QCD?

A: Check with your investment company or financial advisor about whether this is a good option for you. They will probably ask you to provide the name and address of the charity and the amount you want to send them. They will verify that the charity is a qualified 501(c)(3). Once they have this information, they will send a check directly to the charity on your behalf.
